• Ghana Power Plant. Advising on non-disclosure and misrepresentation for DSU claim(s) valued at $90m.
• UK biomass plant. Advising on physical damage, contamination and fundamental policy interpretation issues for contradictory policy provisions for losses arising from defacement of property from oil leaks.
• UK Power station collapse. Advising on liability issues relating to a UK power station demolition project.
• Brazilian tailings dam failure relating to iron ore mining operations. Advising under a combined single limit property damage and business interruption policy for the failure of business critical assets at the facility. Advising on coverage implications of the findings of the Federal Police Investigation, the dam as an uninsured asset, failure to obtain licenses and subsequent damage proviso.
• Peru hydro. Advising under a construction all risks (CAR) policy on the failure of concrete structures and advice on LEG clauses and Delay in Start Up (DSU).
• Bolivian power plant turbines. Advising on construction/erection all risks (EAR) policy coverage for claims in respect of material liberation from turbine blades during tests.
• Dubai power plant. Advising under a CAR policy on “loss of chance” issues arising from damage to a series of transformers fitted to a high-pressure and low-pressure train.
• Colombian oil pipeline. Advising on cover under CAR/EAR policy for issues arising from a failed horizontal directional drilling under a major Colombian river crossing.
