James Boyle currently serves as Head of Energy, London Markets, where he spearheads a market-leading global portfolio of first-party Offshore and Onshore Energy risks. Liberty Specialty Markets’ extensive portfolio encompasses traditional refining, processing, power generation, and renewable energy risks both on and offshore.

James commenced his insurance career at XL Insurance in 2007, initially specialising in reinsurance. He subsequently transitioned to the energy property underwriting team as an assistant. In 2013, he joined Swiss Re as an underwriter for mining and onshore energy before joining Liberty Specialty Markets in 2021.

James’ expertise revolves around midstream energy, the development of energy transition products, and addressing the global insurance protection gap. His comprehensive understanding of the industry and its challenges enables him to provide innovative and tailored solutions for clients.
