Mamoon Alyah is the Managing Director of CEERISK Consulting, a professional service firm that offers clients in the insurance and legal markets around the world services designed to investigate complex engineering incidents and provide expert opinions in engineering disputes. Mr Alyah is a Chartered Electrical Engineer with the Engineering Council in the UK, a Professional Engineer (PE) in a number of states in the USA and holds an International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management (IRM). With over 35 years of experience, Mr Alyah has investigated and provided expert opinions in numerous complex claims and litigation matters involving electrical power systems (generation, transmission, and distribution), including turbine (gas and steam) failures, wind energy (onshore and offshore), solar (PV and CSP) in addition to geothermal, hydro,
and other power system. He also investigated failures of transformers, substation, switchgear assemblies, underground cables, and other power equipment.
Mr. Alyah has also been qualified as an expert witness in different jurisdictions (USA, UK, EU, Middle East and Asia) preparing expert reports and giving evidence in legal proceedings in many jurisdictions in matters involving construction disputes, and defect claims.
Mr Alyah has authored several technical articles in leading industry magazines, in addition to being a frequent lecturer to different organizations and groups such as the CILA, OEC London and Dubai, IMIA among many others. He hosts a monthly webinar for insurance industry professionals on topics covering energy and engineering claims.
