Mykhailo Rushkovskyi is a seasoned risk and insurance manager from Ukraine, with a wealth of experience heading risk function in the energy, oil and gas, and insurance sectors. He has recently taken on the role of Enterprise Risk Manager at Qatar Chemical Company.

Previously, Mykhailo served as the Head of Risk Management at DTEK Group, Ukraine’s largest privately-owned energy holding. During his tenure, he successfully reengineered the risk management and insurance function of the group and developed a state-of-the-art insurance program for DTEK Renewables, which included international insurance markets and war risks coverage.

Before DTEK, Mykhailo was the Chief Risk Officer at Naftogaz Group, Ukraine’s largest state-owned oil and gas company. There, he established a vertically integrated Enterprise Risk Management system across the group and led Naftogaz to become the first state-owned company in Ukraine to develop, approve, and implement a Risk Appetite Statement.

Earlier in his career, Mykhailo held various positions at Allianz, Generali, and Marsh, where he was responsible for risk management & BCM, underwriting, and reinsurance.

Mykhailo’s expertise has been recognized with the European Risk Management Awards 2022 – Business Continuity Programme of the Year.

In terms of education, Mykhailo holds an MA degree in International Business from Kyiv National University, Ukraine, an MBA degree from MIB School of Management, Italy. He is also a PhD candidate in risk management strategies at Kyiv National University and has authored several scientific articles on risk management and insurance.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mykhailo founded RUNDERC.com, an internet publishing platform for risk managers that offers fresh perspectives on today’s most pressing topics from geopolitics to climate change and artificial intelligence.
