Robert has over 11 years’ experience across various claims, underwriting, broking and risk advisory roles, engendering a holistic perspective that unlocks the best possible terms for our clients. Robert started his career in claims, managing offshore wind losses for the world’s largest renewable energy (re)insurer, GCube Underwriting Limited, where he handled nearly every major offshore wind claim from 2013-2016.

After claims, Robert moved to underwriting, eventually becoming Head of Offshore Wind Underwriting at GCube, where he led the insurance of some of the world’s first floating wind projects and fixed-bottom projects in ‘new’ territories like Taiwan and Japan. He also ran his own independent risk consultancy, helping supply chain partners understand risk transfer beyond the insurance transaction. At NARDAC, Robert has structured (re)insurance deals on dozens of fixed-bottom and floating offshore wind projects across the globe.

Robert is a regular speaker at conferences, particularly on offshore wind and subsea cables, where he is recognised as an industry specialist. Robert has been involved in over 100 renewable energy projects across North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australasia. Robert holds a master’s degree in history and international politics, specialising in energy policy and decarbonisation.
