Professor Subhamoy Bhattacharya is co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of renewable risk analytics firm, Renew Risk. With expertise in offshore foundation design and seismic area foundations, he leads the scientific team developing innovative SaaS and consultancy solutions to facilitate the financing and insurance of sustainable energy infrastructure. Outside of his work at Renew Risk, Suby is Chair Professor in Geomechanics at the University of Surrey, and leads the Geomechanics Research Group, focusing on foundational designs for renewable energy projects. He is also a Visiting Fellow at the University of Bristol and Visiting Professor at Zhejiang University in China, and a Technical Grant Evaluator for the European Commission. He earned his doctorate from the University of Cambridge investigating failure mechanisms of piles in seismically liquefiable soils.
